Description

The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Senior Project Manager to its team of experienced data center migration professionals. The Senior Project Manager role in our company typically has full staffing, business development, and financial responsibility for their specified project and occasionally an entire client engagement.

Our typical engagements are relocations, mergers, consolidations, and modernizations lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Data center migration projects are mission-critical and come with inherent risks. The qualified candidate must have previous experience with data center migrations, consolidations, and/or relocations.

The ideal candidate must be a proactive team player with a dynamic personality comfortable working in highly available, fast-paced, client-facing environments. Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead and execute complex projects with limited supervision.
  • Able to seek and understand clients overall business objectives and how to position effective solutions to ensure successful implementation of products and technologies.
  • Responsible for determining data center migration/consolidation strategy and execution
  • Effectively multitask between different initiatives
  • Ten plus years of hands-on Project Management experience
  • Strong project management and technical leadership skills, with specific focus on data center migrations and/or consolidations
  • Previous experience leading a data center migration and consolidation projects.
  • Creating data center migration/consolidation strategies and execution plans
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of fluency / understanding of data center technologies and terminology
  • Ability to create, adapt, and "hybridize" data center migration processes
  • Ability to manage, track and report on performance to budget and schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact efficiently with the technical team as well as C-level executives
  • Proven accountability and demonstrates a high degree of ownership
  • Mastery of MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused, with a proven track record of exceeding expectations in project delivery

 

Preferred Experience

  • PMP Certification
  • Hands on project management experience in Banking, Healthcare, or Manufacturing industries
  • Previous experience working in a large scale environment (global, fortune 500)
  • Past experience working with top-tier companies such as: IBM, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft, and Google.
  • Experience with business development tasks (RFPs, whitepapers, etc.)
  • Recent experience with leading technologies / markets (cloud migrations, software defined networking, etc.)

 

Additional Information

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Full time/w Benefits
  • Ability to travel on short notice (approximately 25% 1wk/month average within continental US annually)
  • Telecommute (but must be willing to support any U.S. time zone)
